Roots of the Woo

It is always difficult for us answering the question: What are your musical inspirations. We are all interested in different kind of styles and bands, however some bands are in fact a great source of inspiration. I would like here to introduce a band that is quite well known in France for the 70's lovers, but maybe less known in the UK: Malicorne. This band was using old songs, poems or melodys from the medieval age, and turned them into marvelous music with their own style. Extremely talented musicians and singers, they keep surprising you with great interpretations. Going from accapella to electric guitars backing up an ancient psycheldelic instrument, their approach of the medieval music is unique. Although the beautiful lyrics are obviously french, I still think that anyone can enjoy the beauty of the songs without understanding. Judge by yourself with this track from one of my favourite album from them: Branle la peronelle.

Is Anybody Out There?

Hello Peeps,

We have been doing this silly Blog for a wee while now and we have no idea if anyone actually reads it..........apart from us and our Mothers, that is.......... Hi Mum!

So if you're reading this send us a stupid message via the "Contact us" page just so we don't feel so alone in tinterweb land.

ALSO: Do you have any photos of the fabulous Portnawak & The Woo from our our many high
profile gigs? If so we would love to see them and put the best and worst up on the Blog.

Quotation of the day:
If your feeling angry with someone then try walking a mile in their shoes.....
Then you'll be a mile away from them and you'll have their shoes

kisses,
Benedict
